Today I found out that one of my closest college friends is pregnant! Talk about exciting. So, now I’m of course planning and plotting how to get her in front of the camera for a maternity session. She’s a bit shy in front of the camera, but lord knows she’s not a shy person in any other part of her life! So, of course I’ll be recruiting her husband to help me push her in front of my camera so that she can show off a bit. Once she’s there and she sees how amazing she looks, I’m sure she’ll be happy that she did it. So, in honor of the master plan that I’m plotting, I decided to place “Center Stage” my favorite Rock Star mom, Sametra. I photographed her some time ago, but she still is my favorite maternity session to date. She’s bold, beautiful and ridiculously talented. This women is a makeup artist, a dancer and a model…so you can only begin to imagine how much fun we had. I hope you enjoy the images as much as I enjoyed creating them with her. I truly think that the only thing more beautiful than a Rock Star mom glowing with the life inside her, is when that little life arrives and opens its eyes. Thank you God for the amazing miracles you surround us with every single day! Enjoy this look back at Sametra’s maternity photography session.
Several months ago I had the pleasure of photographing a Michigan wedding with a photographer friend of mine, Ed of Edward John Photography. It was a chilly, rainy, Midwest fall day, but the wedding was gorgeous and Tom & Jessica had an amazing day. We had a lot of fun dashing in and out of buildings to create great images between the sprinkles and the approaching frost bite :-). Fortunately, Mother Nature held out for us and I’m proud to say Mission Accomplished! By the end of the day my feet were soaked from walking through the grass and the brides dress was more than a little damp, but it was all worth it. Tom and Jessica are two awesome people. Not only were they troopers but their obvious love and quirky since of humor sure kept me inspired. One of my favorite things about these two is that they had the hilarious idea to carve “Thank You” into a pumpkin that was displayed at the wedding. Between the Thank You pumpkin, their obvious love and the Groom’s Doughnut cake, I couldn’t help but have an awesome time photographing these two!
I had a great time photographing two very talented young ladies from Nightwriter Music. Both J.Marie and China have beautiful voices and as you can see, that’s not where their beauty stops. Have a look at a few of my favorite images from the shoot. I also invite you to hop over to www.nightwritermusic.com to hear and see more of these two talented divas.
