Heather Colmar is a unique and awesome jewlery designer who brought in a few Atlanta based photographers to capture her latest line of jewelry. We are coming up on the first anniversary of one of my favorite couples. Erica and Alex were married April 24th 2010 and in celebration of their beautiful love here are some of my favorite images from their wedding album. I had dinner with Alex and Erica earlier this week and the love and joy that made them so fun to photograph is stronger and more pure than ever! Thank you again for the honor of photographing your special day.
The beautiful city of Barcelona has so much to offer. From one of my favorite languages, to the beautiful people and amazing ocean views. My camera was very much at home here and I really enjoyed photographing many of the treasures that Barcelona had to offer. This city is definitely on my list of cities that I’d like to live in for a while one day. So, don’t be surprise if one day I post an “I’ve Moved” message and the new address is beautiful Barcelona!
One of the coolest traditions they have here is The Majic Fountain of Montjuic. The following is only a taste of what the nighttime show had to offer. The show starts at the top of a hill just in front of what looks like a gorgeous palace and then makes its way down through the courtyard and along the street. One particular fountain got a lot of my attention as you will see. My favorite is when the little silhouette boys decided that had the powers of Poseiden and started conducting the water. Much to their delight, it seem to do exactly what they wanted.
So, the original plan was to fly from Madrid to Barcelona, but thanks to baggage fees that would have been 450 Euros, it was time to come up with plan B, which was to drive. This turned out to be an AWESOME thing because thanks to this misFORTUNE, I had a chance to drive through Zaragoza which is a beautiful Spanish city I had never heard of. There were definitely some awesome images to be had. Enjoy!
It’s wonderful how many simple things in our life can be so beautiful. Something as simple as a reflection is so easy to take for granted and even miss all together. Here what I love about this picture is the mirrored image in the water. It’s nothing new, but beautiful just the same.
Life flowing over art. OK, yeah, that statement is definitely deeper than the picture. But hey, it’s my blog…I can do that…right? (smile)
Something so simple as shadows and shapes remind me that there is art all around us. A photographer has a real love affair with light and it’s obvious that architects and craftsmen are a part of our crew of light lovers.
Such a little person in front of such an amazing building of fatih and worship. In this, God (yours, mine and everyone’s) is truly honored because it’s the perfect blend of miracles, both big and small.
Just as we were leaving Zaragoza the sun was setting and it was the perfect end to an amazing accidental fat driven day. Thanks universe!!
Baby Caleb arrived only a few weeks ago and he is absolutely beautiful! I haven’t quite figured out who he looks like between mom and dad, but I definitely know that he’s an adorable little fella and so well behaved. I have affectionately been deemed uncle and I couldn’t be prouder of this little fella. Mom and dad are both doing well and adjusting nicely to parenthood. Based on our newborn photo session, it is clear that Caleb is ready to be a star. He was so excited about all of the attention that even after his feeding he refused to go to sleep. Instead he posed for us, gave us the occasional smile (no, it wasn’t gas…it was a smile darn it!) and was on his best behavior.
We started off with a slightly sleep Caleb, but as you can see he quickly woke up gave us an awesome baby smile and was ready for his closeups!
No matter how many baby portrait sessions I do, it never ceases to amaze me just how incredibly little this rockstar angels are. Caleb’s had is too small to fully grab daddy’s finger and 16 years from now he’ll probably be taller than dad and able to beat dad on the court. If that’s not a miracle, I don’t know what is.
Next Caleb decided to REALLY show off by rolling over for the very first time. It was a bit of a struggle at first, but once he got going, he was really moving and just look at the joy in him once he finally made it onto his back. By the time he was done, the room was chanting Caleb…Caleb…Caleb! Like I said, welcome to the stage you little Rockstar Angel.
And a session with a baby boy wouldn’t be complete without a kiss from papa. Man, this little guy is in great hands and I can’t wait to see the type of man he becomes.
To say that I’m excited about this year’s Imaging USA conference would be an understatement. Out of bed at 6AM and off to the badge correction desk. Of course they got my name wrong thanks to the fact that my photographer alter-ego goes by my middle name and not by my first name plus the first four letters of my middle name. All that being what it is, I know it’s going to be an awesome day. Photos and more updates to come.
I don’t know if it’s America’s Next Top Model, or the fact that Seniors these days have a better sense of self and confidence. In either case, I’m loving all the creativity and new media out there for Senior Portrait sessions. When I was in school, we handed out wallets and you were “edgy” if you wallet was a design with you on the cover of GQ Magazine. Now Seniors have full page ads that feature just how awesome they are. I am loving this opportunity to feature my photography, graphic design and of course my AWESOME seniors! Teen Vogue, watch out…this years fund raising Senior Ad book might just out do you.
It’s Thursday night and I’m driving home from the airport. I hear on 94.1 that Lifehouse and Kris Allen are going to be performing at the Tabernacle in Atlanta. The concert is in less than a week, so there is no way there are tickets on sale…right? Fortunately there was enough sanity to override the excitement and stop me from going online from my iphone, while driving, to check for tickets. We all know that would NOT have been a good look. Anyhow, I rushed home, hopped on line and to my surprise, tickets! General Admission, which is perfect at The Tabernacle and the price is so very right!
And now it’s time for part two of the Kris Allen and Lifehouse concert capture from the Lifehouse Smoke And Mirrors tour. From “Hanging By a Moment” to “Whatever Takes” and “You and Me”, they performed all of my favorites and so much more. I honestly don’t think they’ve made a song that I don’t like. I know for a fact they haven’t made an album that I don’t like. I hope all of the Jason Wade fans think that I did him justice. Enjoy the images, and as always, feel free to leave a comment. Tonight I had the privilege of going to an AWESOME concert featuring Kris Allen and Lifehouse. I have been a huge fan of Lifehouse since their first album, and I was a big fan of Kris’ all through American Idol. I must admit that he wasn’t my pick to win, but no one can deny how talented this cat is. He deserves ALL of his success and then some. He put on a phenomenal show and had the entire crowd jumping…literally. Can we say undulating floor! He was one of two opening acts for Lifehouse and I must admit that I don’t know who I enjoyed more…Kris or Lifehouse. Check out some of my favorite shots and most importantly, check out Kris Allen. A couple of weeks ago one of my closest friends from college asked me to shoot some photos at her baby shower. Although I don’t normally do event photography outside of weddings, I knew this would be a blast and Dedra is like family. As expected, the day was filled with lots of “Tom Foolery” as we would say. Thanks to the giggling, laughing and all out hysteria…it was an awesome day. I can’t wait until little baby boy (he hasn’t been named yet) arrives. I’m betting on November 16th for the arrival date and I am already excited about his newborn photo session. Here are some of my favorite images from the shower and I hope they give you at least a taste of how much fun and love filled the house. The most amazing, beautiful and slightly frightening thing is that I know he is going to grow up surrounded by all this same love, energy and insanity. Lord help him!
